Thought I would start this thread to talk about data protection. Always seems to be lively debate about backup. I do believe when people say raid is not in place of data backup. I thought it would be great to have a discussion, not a flame war, about experiences.
Cost is always a consideration for home and business people. Curious what suggestions people might make for effective home and small business backup that give some peace of mind without breaking the bank. I've already seen in doing my own backups that usb external enclosures aren't always the best option. I tried to rsync to a drive that was fine by itself but, when placed in an enclosure, introduced issues where the backup would die part way through. What have been your successes or pitfalls? Chris |
