When you want to find out how other sites are linking to you, there are a few methods you can use. In general, you want to filter out your site from the returns.
One easy method that currently works [may change in future Google versions of course] is this: yourdomain.com -site:www.yourdomain.com this assumes that your site is consistently named 'www.yourdomain.com in links, or that you have a rewrite to www. for incoming links running on your site. You can filter out as many sites using the -site: method as you want, like domain.com -site:domain.com -site:otherdomain.com and so on. Since google no longer gives consistent support for the link: command, that's worthless at this point. to get the total number of links on the web, including your site's pages, you can use the allinurl:yourdomain.com command. |
