My Ubuntu Device Manager does not recognize my processor neither my monitor.I have installed Windows XP SP2 on C: and Linux on F: partition.
XP recognizes all hardware, but Ubuntu doesn't.Why not? I'm new to Linux. What should I do?

PS:sorry for my English, I know it's not good enough- I speak Portuguese.I hope you understand my question. Thanks!

Sorry, I was hoping some ubuntu user could answer this, but unfortunatley we have no ubuntu users coming to these forums as far as I know.

Why something doesn't work is probably best asked on the Ubuntu portugese forums. Or just try their regular English ones, not here, since we can only answer linux questions, not distro specific things like why something does or doesn't work on Distro x or y.

Hopefully someone over at ubuntu will be able to help you out, they have a nice community that usually tries to help new users.

Here we try to focus more on general Linux questions, not specific distro related ones, except for Sidux, and Debian, which we support to some degree.
